Wolvercote Cemetery is a cemetery in the parish of Wolvercote, Oxford, England. The cemetery was opened in 1889 and currently contains more than 15,000 burials among them John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, (1892-1973), writer of “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobit” with his wife Edith Tolkien (1889 -1971) and older son John Francis Reuel Tolkien.

Any fan of Tolkien and Lord of the Rings who visits Oxford can pay his respects to this excellent writer. The cemetery is easy to find north of Oxford, and once there, there are some signs to direct you to where the Tolkien Family is. Numerous fans and worshipers have paid respectful tributes to its author and it is a moving place to visit to pay their respects to the man who brought us Middle-earth.
